Why is the Intelligent Video Activity Notification not detecting a person walking by?

For a Ground Zone Rule - Check the setting for “Duration Inside of Area of Interest”. This can be found within the actual rule settings under “Configure Ground Zone Recording Rule”. If a person is getting by the camera without it detecting them, you may have this setting adjusted for too long of a duration. Also, check the minimum delay between clips, the schedule for the rule, and the exceptions for the rule. All of these settings can affect when your device will detect a person walking by.

For a TripZone Rule – Check your TripZone line under “Configure TripZone Recording Rule” and make sure it is configured for the how someone could cross the field of view. You can have more than one TripZone line, but you would have to set that up under a different TripZone rule. Check the direction arrow of the TripZone line and make sure that it is configured correctly. The arrow points to which direction someone would cross to activate the rule. You can also configure it activate when someone crosses in either direction. Also, check the minimum delay between clips, the schedule for the rule, and the exceptions for the rule. All of these settings can affect when your device will detect a person walking by.
